They were ministering with music before the dwelling place of the tabernacle of meeting, until Solomon had built the house of the Lord in Jerusalem, and they served in their office according to their order. 1 Chronicles 6:32 (NKJV)

David appointed men from the tribe of Levi over the service of song in the house of the Lord. It was a God-ordained ministry and just as important as all the other positions in the sanctuary. Worship in song was a sacred duty that complemented sacrifice and pointed the Israelites hearts to God.

Worship is just as important to us today and is not just for Sunday mornings at church. Worship is not just song, but a heart condition, where we acknowledge God's worth, honoring Him through our words, actions, and attitudes. When we worship our Lord, we give him all the honor, glory, and praise for who He is and what He had done. Ephesians 5:19-20 says, "Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Choose to make worship a heart condition, worshiping your Lord in song, in prayer, and in service. Sing to the Lord from your heart during church services, raising your hands to Him, who saved you. Make worship part of your daily activities, giving all the honor, praise, and glory to Him in all you do. When you approach worship with a heart for God, you will experience joy, peace, and gratitude that will wash away worries, bring comfort, and deepen your sense of belonging to God. Remember to always worship God in all you do.
