We all Lose Faith
1 Samuel 27:1 David is a bible hero and portrayed 'as man after God's own heart', but like we can do, panicked and trusted in his own heart instead of going to God for direction when the world seemed to be closing in on him.

And David said in his heart, “Now I shall perish someday by the hand of Saul. There is nothing better for me than that I should speedily escape to the land of the Philistines; and Saul will despair of me, to seek me anymore in any part of Israel. So, I shall escape out of his hand.” 1 Samuel 27:1 (NKJV)
David is feeling the pressure from Sauls relentless attempts at his life. He is tired, he is fearful, and his own tribe betrayed him twice, so he runs to his enemy, the Philistines to hide. He makes up lies to tell them while he is there to make them believe that he is done with Israel. He raids other enemy villages, killing everyone within and them tells the philistines that he attacked villages in Judah instead. This period showed a low point in David’s spiritual life, reflecting human imperfection and the costs of fear-driven decisions.
Like David, we can become overwhelmed and act out of fear. Fear-driven decisions can lead to a range of negative outcomes, including missed opportunities, emotional exhaustion, and loss of authenticity. The costs may prevent us from achieving our full potential and may contribute to a cycle of fear and avoidance. God does not want us to live in fear but have the faith that He will bring us through our troubles. The New Testament is riddled with verses about faith in God to get us through trials. My favorite is Philippians 4:6-7, which says, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." This is a powerful verse that we need to memorize and hold in our hearts when times get bad.
Choose to prepare yourself for the trials of this life and build a foundation before the storm. Start a habit of daily prayer, bible reading, and reflection every day, even if it is only for 5 minutes. Make a list of all the times the Lord has brought you through trials and tribulation. He was faithful to bring you through those, and He will be faithful to bring you through future trials. Memorize a scripture about the power of faith. Write it on a card and keep it with you. Put the verse as your background in your phone. Do whatever you can to get it written on your heart. Build a team of Christian brothers and sisters that you can go to for support and encouragement. We all have times of weakness and may lose faith, but we have a mighty God who will always be there for us.
