Yet the righteous will hold to his way, and he who has clean hands will be stronger and stronger. Job 17:9 (NKJV)

In his prayer for relief, Job has confidence in the ultimate reward for those who remain steadfast in their righteousness, even amid pain and suffering. It is Job's faith and integrity that is giving him the strength to endure his tribulation and remain steadfast in his moral principles. Job is determined to stay on the path of faith and integrity even under pressure, keeping his moral purity, building his strength and growing stronger in his faith. Even though he feels all has been lost, he still has the faith to know God will come through for him in the end.

As believers, we know there will be adversity for us, but we also know that if we keep our integrity, faith will be strengthened as a result of our tribulations. Jesus said in John 16:33, "I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." We are no longer bound by sin but set free by the blood of Jesus, and no matter what happens to us, we know that we are protected by He who has overcome the world. Because of His sacrifice, we choose to live righteously, having the faith that He is in control of our lives. When we strive to live righteously, we are assured that our commitment will lead to spiritual growth and strength. As our spiritual strength grows, our faith in God's care and provision increase, and we are better equipped to deal with future trials. 1 Corinthians 10:13 says, “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it”

When the whole world seems to be coming down around you, choose to anchor yourself in God’s unchanging character, choosing trust over feelings. Engage in daily prayer and bible studies to keep yourself connected to His promises. Learn from bible examples, like Job, on how God has come through for humanity. Keep a journal and record instances of God providing for you in times of uncertainty, Refering to those entries in times of trouble. If God has brought the people of the bible through troubled times and has delivered you from your trials in the past, He will continue to do so. Choose faith over feelings in trials, reframing them as a way for growth, and trust in God's timing and plan. When you anchor your hope in God's character, you build the resilience to keep your moral integrity no matter the size of the storm.
