indeed it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the Lord, saying:
“For He is good,
For His mercy endures forever,”
that the house, the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud, 2 Chronicles 5:13 (NKJV)
Solomon completed the temple and all the congregation of Israel sacrificed so many sheep and oxen that they could not be counted and then the priests brought the Ark into its resting place in the Most Holy Place under the wings of the cherubim. When the priests came out of the Most Holy Place, all of Israel started worshiping together with stringed instruments, cymbals, and trumpets, praising the Lord for His goodness and mercy in unison. The worship was so powerful that the presence of God in the tabernacle made it impossible to the priests to continue ministering.
Like the Israelites', unified worship is powerful, bringing Christians together in unity, with one heart and mind, strengthening the church and the world. Hebrews 13:15 says, "Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name." When we worship together, we build community, unite people, strengthen our devotion, and makes us one in the body of Christ. There are many genres of worship, reflecting the diversity in ways to worship, yet all bringing a multi-generational and multi-ethnic people together in unison under Christ.
Choose to worship with all your heart, joining other believers in one voice that brings God into your church and community. When you worship together with other believers, you experience God's presence, and all the issues of the day seem to fade away. You feel God's power and realize that He is greater than any trial that you may be going through. You are given the strength to face your trials. Choose to continually worship God throughout the day and week in all you do, remembering the power He gives you. Worship with other believers during the week in bible studies and mid-week services. Unified worship is very powerful in strengthening you as a Chistian, take every opportunity to do so.
