Indeed, these are the mere edges of His ways, and how small a whisper we hear of Him! But the thunder of His power who can understand? Job 26:14 (NKJV)
In Job 26, Job responds to Bildad's assertion to God's dominion by pointing out that man does not have God's wisdom, strength, and power. He describes the incomprehensible power and majesty of God over the unseen and hidden realms, His cosmic order, and God’s authority over heaven and chaos. Job reflects on the fact that what humans perceive of God’s works is only a tiny fraction of His full power and majesty and are only the outskirts of God’s infinite wisdom and authority.
As believers, we need to understand that we don't understand the extent of God's power. We need to see God's power in all creation, realizing it is just a whisper of His true majesty. Romans 1:20 says, “For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made,” emphasizing that God’s power is evident in creation and reveals His divine nature.
When all seems lost, and your day is getting worse, choose to look around you and see the majesty of God's power all around you. Realize that it is just a whisper of His true power, and if He can make the world and the universe, He has the power to see you through any circumstance that may bring you down. Search the scripture for verses about His power to save like Isaiah 41:10 and 2 Corinthians 1:10. Write these verses down, put them on your bible jacket, your screen lock, or on your refrigerator, and put them to memory so that when you feel weak, you can know the power of God in your life. Ask God to open your eyes to His power when you pray each morning so you can see all that He has done in your life. Know that God is good and He saves with just a whisper of His power.
