And he made the Most Holy Place. Its length was according to the width of the house, twenty cubits, and its width twenty cubits. He overlaid it with six hundred talents of fine gold. 2 Chronicles 3:8 (NKJV)

Solomon started the construction of the temple in the fourth year of his reign, and the most inner chamber was known as the Most Holy Place and contained the Ark of the Covenant. It was a thirty-foot perfect square, symbolizing completeness, balance, and moral perfection. The Most Holy Place was separated by a veil, symbolizing the sin that separates man from God. The high priest could enter in once a year on the Day of Atonement, and sprinkle blood on the mercy seat to atone for sins of the people of Israel.

Unlike the Israelites, we have a Most Holy Place that we have full access to. Hebrews 9:11 says, "But when Christ came as high priest of the good things that are now already here, he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not made with human hands, that is to say, is not a part of this creation." When Jesus died on the cross for us, the veil that separated us from God was torn and He spread His own blood on the mercy seat so that we could have atonement from our sins forever. When we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, the most holy place resides in our hearts.

Choose to gain access to the Most Holy Place and accept Christ as your savior. If you have been saved, chose to bring others to Christ, and share the Word with them. If you just bring one lost sheep to God, all of heaven will rejoice. Create and maintain sacred places in your home and your heart that honor Him with the best you have. Enter your Most Holy Place with gladness and joy, knowing the sacrifice that Jesus made so that you could be in heaven with God for all eternity.
