But Micaiah said, “If you ever return in peace, the Lord has not spoken by me.” And he said, “Take heed, all you people!” 1 Kings 22:28 (NKJV)

King Ahab askes King Jehoshaphat of Judah to go with him to battle against the Syrians, who wants the king of Israel to have his prophets inquire of the Lord to see if He is with them. King Jehoshaphat questions the authenticity of the four hundred prophets when they say to go to battle, sensing that they are telling King Ahab what he wants to hear and asks if there is another prophet to inquire of. King Ahab says that there is one, Micaiah the prophet, who he doesn't like because he tells the king things that he does not like. Even though Micaiah is warned by King Ahab's servants to go along with the four hundred prophets, he tells the truth and says that the king will die if he goes out to battle.

What keeps us from speaking the truth about Jesus? It is so easy to talk about Jesus on Sunday morning in church or when we are around fellow believers. How do we act when we are around an unbelieving world? Do our co-workers know that we follow Jesus or are we trying to fit into the social norms? Are we afraid to share Jesus because we don't to want to stand out in a crowd, look like an idiot, or lose a friendship? Are we afraid to share Jesus because we don't feel equipped and fear that we will fail? 2 Timothy 4:2 says, "Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction." When we live for Jesus and equip ourselves to share Him, it is easier to stand for the Truth.

Choose to prepare yourself to share Jesus with the world. Read His word daily, pray about it, listen to other believers' experiences, and ask your pastor how to share Jesus. Choose to live a life that shows Jesus to the world, even in the hard times. When unbelievers see the peace of Jesus in you, even in the difficult times, they will want what you have. Choose to listen to the Holy Spirit and share Jesus with others with patience and careful instruction. God may call you to share Jesus with just one person in your whole life, but when you stand for the Truth, you save one more soul from eternal damnation.
