Stand Firm in Your Identity
Esther 3:2 Just like Mordecai stood firm in his belief in God and did not bow down to Haman, we need to stand firm in our identity in Christ.

And all the king’s servants who were within the king’s gate bowed and paid homage to Haman, for so the king had commanded concerning him. But Mordecai would not bow or pay homage. Esther 3:2 (NKJV)
King Ahasuerus promoted Haman above all the other princes, who all bowed down to him, except Mordecai who was a Jew and would only bow down before God. Filled with wrath, Haman sought to kill all the Jews, so he convinced King Ahasuerus that the Jewish people were rebellious and a danger to the king. Haman told the king that he would use his own money to pay the those who would be performing the act of killing the Jew, so the king gave his signet ring to Haman authorizing him to go ahead with his plan.
Are we willing to die for our beliefs, or do we forsake God when we are pressured to bow down to the world's standards? Jesus said in Matthew 16:24, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me." Following Jesus means that sometimes we need to embrace hardship, persecution, and self-denial to live for God. Dying for our beliefs, is not only a physical death, but is laying down our own desires to follow Christ’s example, by putting God’s will above your own comfort, submitting to God’s plan even when it’s hard, and serving others as Christ served.
Stand firm in your identity in Christ and be ready to die for your beliefs. Place your faith in Jesus Christ staying spiritually alert, keeping prayer and Bible study a priority, and living in a way that pleases God every day. Pray, read Scripture, and fellowship with other believers to strengthen your faith and give you peace. Repent of sin, turning away from ungodly behavior, and striving to reflect Christ’s love and truth in your actions. Stay vigilant and prepared for His coming, sharing the Gospel with others, loving your neighbors, and living in a way that points others to Christ, leaving a legacy of faith.
