Sin Will Get You
Judges 16:17 Deliah pesters Samson daily, until he reveals the source of his strength. Even though he knew that she was bad news for him, he still fell for her. The same happens to us today.

With such nagging she prodded him day after day until he was sick to death of it. So, he told her everything. “No razor has ever been used on my head,” he said, “because I have been a Nazirite dedicated to God from my mother’s womb. If my head were shaved, my strength would leave me, and I would become as weak as any other man.” Judges 16:16-17 (NIV)
Samson is playing with sin again. He is in a place he should not be and with a woman that he should not be with. He has fallen for Deliliah who represents the sin in his life, and she is working on depriving him of his strength. The Philistine lords promise to pay her for information on how to defeat Samson. She pesters him daily, to find the source of his strength and how to overcome it. Even though he knew that Delilah was bad for him, he still gives in and tells her what she wants to know. His hair is shaved, and when he goes up against the Philistines again, he is easily subdued, his eyes are gouged out, and he is put in prison pushing a grinding stone. Even though Samson has sinned, God redeems him when He gives Samson his strength back in the Philistine temple of Dagon. The Philistines have him there to celebrate his deliverance into their hands, and God gives him the strength to push down the pillars and kill them all.
Just like Samson, sin nags at us every day. We know it is bad, but we still fall for Satan's deceitful methods to get us to sin. He uses sex, money, pride, envy, and lust to lure us into his trap. We fall victim to our sin, feel separated from God, and wallow in our pain and bondage. But God knows us and gives us a way out. Romans 3:23 says "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," and Romans 6:23 says "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." When we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, we no longer have to let sin control us. But Satan doesn't like saved Christians, so he attacks us even more and we can fall into the control of sin from time to time. We need to recognize it and reach out to the Lord to take it away from us. We also need to arm ourselves with daily prayer, bible reading, and the support of other believers so that sin will not get us.
