I know that You can do everything, and that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You. Job 42:2 (NKJV)
After being challenged, Job recognizes God's authority, unlimited power and the invincibility of His plans, humbling himself and admitting that he spoke of things he did not understand. Job submits to God's will reflecting deep humility, repentance, and the recognition of God’s sovereignty after enduring immense suffering. After rebuking Job's friends for not speaking of Him of what was right, God tells them to go to Job to pray for them because he was accepted by the Lord. The Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before, blessing his latter days more than that of his beginnings.
Job's humility, repentance and blessings is a model of spiritual revival in our lives today. Colossians 2:13 says, "When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins." Our revival begins with humble confession, acknowledging that we are unable to fully understand God’s sovereign plan. Following confession, we repent of our sins, turning to a heart of contrition before God, which leads to atonement and the faith in Christ’s atoning sacrifice for our sin. We experience the forgiveness of our sins through Jesus’ death and ongoing intercession, followed by faith-led obedience to God's will. God restores joyful fellowship with other believers around us, reminding us of the hope of eternal life and full restoration in Heaven.
When times are bad and you feel far away from God, choose a path back to Him, experiencing the seven stages of spiritual revival: Humble Confession, Repentance, Atonement, Forgiveness, Faith-Led Obedience, Joyful Fellowship, and Hope. Confess the need for revival by honestly acknowledging that you need revival in your personal life and believe that revival is possible because God has done it before. Understand that your revival comes from God alone, not from human effort, programs, or institutions. Pray for revival in your life, because prayer is the “secret” of revival; it is the act of asking God to send it and to prepare you to receive it. Live in a way that aligns with God’s will, so that revival can flow through you to others, identifying and removing obstacles like sin, disobedience, and spiritual barriers. When you live a life always striving for spiritual revival, you achieve peace, joy, glory, harmony, increase, and provision, creating an atmosphere where revival can take root in others.
