2 Chronicles 23:11 The Davidic line was restored with the crowning of Joash as king, just as we are restored when we accept Christ as our savoir.

And they brought out the king’s son, put the crown on him, gave him the Testimony, and made him king. Then Jehoiada and his sons anointed him, and said, "Long live the king!" 2 Chronicles 23:11 (NKJV)

When Joash was seven years old, Jehoiada the priest made covenants with the captains of the armies of Judah to protect him from Queen Athaliah. Joash was hidden and protected by Jehoiada for six years after Athaliah killed all the sons of Ahaziah and took over the kingdom. Under the protection of the guards, Joash was brought out, crowned, given the Testimony and proclaimed king, restoring the Davidic line as promised by God. When Athaliah entered the temple, she yelled "treason" and then was led out of the temple and killed in the streets. Joash was then set on the throne of the king's house and all of Judah rejoiced.

The restoration of the Davidic promise leads to the restoration that we receive through Jesus Christ, who is in the line of David. Just as God was faithful to the Jewish people when they put Joash back on the throne, He is faithful to us when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Jesus quoted Isaiah in Luke 4:18-19, saying “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” When we accept Christ, our freedom and sight are restored, and we rejoice because we are no longer oppressed.

If you haven't received Christ as your savior, do it now and receive the restoration that only comes through His sacrifice. If you have been restored though the blood of Christ, tell the world about the freedom you received and be willing to share the good news with others, leading them to Jesus Christ. Let the world know about the favor that you now receive from the Lord, and the peace in your heart that you have because of His sacrifice. Just as Joash was restored to the throne, you are made and heir and receive His kingdom when you accept Jesus.
