Quality over Quantitiy
Judges 7:7 A force of thirty-two thousand fighting men showed up to fight the Midianites. That was too many people for God. He wanted a small group of dedicated men to fight the Midianites. The same is true for Christianity today.

The Lord said to Gideon, “With the three hundred men that lapped I will save you and give the Midianites into your hands. Let all the others go home.” Judges 7:7 (NIV)
A force of thirty-two thousand men shows up to fight the Midianites. God tells Gideon that the force is too many for Him to give the enemy into their hands, so He had Gideon send those that were fearful home, and twenty-two thousand men left. The ten thousand men left were still too many for God, so he reduced to number to 300 men and gave them specific instructions on how they were going to defeat the Midianites. God wanted to show that by reliance on Him, victory was going to be achieved, obedience to his instructions was essential, and the He was going to accomplish great things with a small, committed group.
God wants committed Christians to achieve great thing for him. Colossians 3:23 says, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters," Have you ever gone up to your pastor and said, "the church needs this or that group." Your pastor's answer is always, "Great, why don't you lead up the group." That is because he knows that God put it in your heart to get it accomplished, and through His guidance, it shall be done. Remember, that you are serving your God and you need to follow His direction.
Choose to follow what God has called for you to do. It could be a prayer group, a new bible study group might be needed at your church, or you might see a need to collect jackets for the homeless. Whatever it is, make sure that you do for the Lord, and not halfhearted. The Lord led you to do a great work for Him, and He wants the best from you. He wants quality over quantity.
