Now all the work of Solomon was well‑ordered from the day of the foundation of the house of the LORD until it was finished. So, the house of the LORD was completed. 2 Chronicles 8:16 (NKJV)

There was an order to building the temple, starting with a good foundation. God had a specific order in building the temple to ensure it was a pure, holy, and beautiful dwelling for His presence. He wanted it free from idolatry, reflecting His character, and serving as a model for obedience, worship, and the way His people should live. God did not want the chaos as with the golden calf in Exodus 32 during Moses' absence, but wanted His people to live in order, focusing on worship, identity, and the revelation of God’s glory.

Just as with the Israelites, God want order in our lives. 1 Corinthians 14:40 says, “But everything must be done in a proper and orderly manner.” From the very beginning, God created the world in an orderly, purposeful way and He wants order in the way we worship Him, how we conduct ourselves, in our relationships, and how we show Him in society. Order allows us to function well together, avoid conflict, and focus on God's purpose for our lives.

Choose to avoid chaos and live a life that God has ordered for you. Start each day with prayer, asking for His guidance and meditating on His written word. Make it a priority to assemble with other believers in church and life groups to worship Him and study His word. Do a self-check and ask yourself, "Are my actions leading people to Christ, or leading them away?" If you are leading people away, make the amends and corrections so you can align yourself with God's order. Order is essential, and when you follow God's order, you build a strong foundation for a great Christian community.
