On earth there is nothing like him, which is made without fear. He beholds every high thing; he is king over all the children of pride. Job 41:33‑34 (NKJV)
In His final reference to His power, God asks Job if he can draw out Leviathan with a hook. He is a powerful creature of the sea, and no human can control or subdue him, illustrating that God alone governs creation and all forces beyond human control. The leviathan like all creatures was created by God with beauty and unmatched strength, and even in its most mysterious or intimidating forms, is purposeful and beyond human comprehension. God concludes by saying that there is no one like Leviathan on earth, and he is the king of the children of pride, symbolizing a creature that thrives for the destruction of man.
We have a real adversary on earth, and we cannot defeat the king of the children of pride on our own. 1 Peter 5:8–9 says, "Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, knowing that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kinds of suffering." Only Jesus can and has already beat the devil, and when we have the faith to believe in Him and accept his sacrifice, we stand with Him in victory over 'Leviathan.'
Choose to battle on Jesus's side and help deliver people from the clutches of Satan into the hands of Christ. Remember that the battle is not against other humans but the devil. Satan has used pride and greed into fooling mankind that their fight is against each other. God wants every soul on earth to be saved. Help God win the battle by first growing your own relationship with Jesus with daily prayer, scripture, and obedience. Be ready to share your own personal testimony on how you came to Jesus and be willing to share the gospel clearly and simply when asked. Demonstrate the love of Christ by showing kindness, compassion, and practical help, which opens doors for the gospel message. Invite friends to church, host a Bible study, offer a ride to a service, or share a meal while discussing Scripture. Pray daily for God to use you, listing to the prompts of the Holy Spirt, and recognizing individuals that God brings into your life to share Jesus with. Remember that you cannot beat the devil alone, but Jesus can, and already did.
