Hold Fast to Your Integrity
Job 2:9 In times of deep despair we can be tempted to abandon our faith, but like Job, we need to reach deep within to hold on to God.

Then his wife said to him, "Do you still hold fast to your integrity? Curse God and die!" Job 2:9 (NKJV)
After losing all his possessions and killing his children, Job still worships the Lord, so Satan goes after his health afflicting him with painful boils from the soles of his feet to the crown of his head. As he sat in the midst of ashes, scraping the boils with a potsherd, his wife asks Job why he is holding on to his faith and tells him to curse God and die. Even though he is tempted, Job keeps his faith in God and says, "shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?"
Just like Job's situation, a non-believing world will ask us, "Where is your God?" when we are going though trauma and intense pain, temping us to denounce our God and abandon our beliefs. That is when we need to reach deep inside, hold fast to our integrity, which is our unwavering moral and spiritual devotion to God, and show the world our faith through our adversity. James 5:11 says, "As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job's perseverance and have seen the outcome from the Lord. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy." When the world sees our faith in God, and how we are brought through our suffering through Him, they are left is awe and wonder if they need our God and our Christ in their lives.
Strengthen yourself to deal with the adversities of this world and show the world the power of your Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Guard yourself against despair when life is difficult and choose to trust God even when you don’t understand His ways, recognizing that God is in control. Be willing to explain your faith to the unbeliever, showing how God is keeping you at peace even though your world is turned upside down. By staying rooted in God's word, and letting the scripture be your compass, anchoring every choice to God’s Word and relying on the Spirit’s power, you can echo Job: “I will maintain my integrity until I die!”
