For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. In this you have done foolishly; therefore, from now on you shall have wars. 2 Chronicles 16:9 (NKJV)

King Baasha of Israel built Ramah to set up a blockade against Judah and instead of depending on the Lord as in times before, King Asa seeks a treaty with Ben-Hadad of Syria. Syria attacks cities belonging to Israel causing Baasha to withdraw from Ramah and Asa dismantles it. God sends Hannani the seer to Asa to let him know that since he relied on man instead of Him, the Syrians which were a smaller force than the Ethiopians escaped them, foreshadowing Judah's capture by Syria at a later time. Hannani let King Asa know that God is everywhere looking for hearts loyal to Him and because he did not go to God, the rest of his life would be filled with war.

No matter how tempting, we as Christians need to always trust in God's provision, no matter the circumstances. We need to remember that God is everywhere, He knows everything, and He will give us the outcome that is best for us. Acts 17:27 says, “God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us." God is near to all people, making it possible for any of us to find Him through sincere seeking and that spiritual pursuit is a personal and intentional effort that we must choose to do.

God is always there for you so choose to go to Him, who knows what is best for you. Pray every morning, asking God for His help in every situation. Reflect on the times that God has helped you through a situation to build your trust in Him. God is faithful in the small things, and He is faithful in the big. Choose to feel His presence in all everything around you as you go through the day. God is always there, next to you, willing to help in all things, and all you need to do is just trust in Him.
