So, Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the Lord had said to Moses; and Joshua gave it as an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. Then the land rested from war. Joshua 11:23 (NKJV)
In Chapter 11, the remaining northern tribes of Canaan banded together to make the largest and most formidable group that Joshua and his army had to face. The northern forces were significantly larger than Joshua's army, described in the bible as a "multitude as numerous as the sand on the seashore." Joshua and his army were not going to win this battle on their own, but God said, "Do not be afraid because of them, for tomorrow about this time I will deliver all of them slain before Isreal." Josephus, the first-century Jewish historian, estimated that the northern forces consisted of 300,000 infantry soldiers, 10,000 cavalry, and 20,000 chariots, which in 24 hours were defeated by Joshua's army. God had fulfilled his promise to give all of Canaan to the Jewish people. Then they had rest.
God's promise to Christians was fulfilled and the biggest battle was won when Jesus said, "It is finished," in John 19:30. We no longer have to fear death, because God took our sins and put them on the cross. God also battles for us today through His divine intervention, strength, and guidance. He fights our battles by providing us with the strength, peace, and wisdom to face our challenges without fear. This includes not only physical battles but also spiritual battles, such as those against sin, temptation, and darkness. God's presence is always with us, offering strength and courage when we face difficulties.
Let someone know how God has fulfilled His promises in your life. Let people know how he took what seemed impossible and made it possible. Remember to tell someone about Jesus, so that He can fulfill His promise in their life.
