Blessed be the Lord, who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised. There has not failed one word of all His good promise, which He promised through His servant Moses. 1 Kings 8:56 (NKJV)

After saying a prayer of dedication for the temple, Solomon blesses the assembly of Israel with a loud voice and says that the Lord has given Israel rest on all sides and has not failed one word of His good promise. What were God's promises to Israel? In Genesis 12:1-3 He promises Abraham that he would be a father of a great nation even though Sarah was old and they had no children. God also tells Abraham that all nations would be blessed by him and that He would bless those that blessed him and curse those that cursed him. The most important promise that the Lord made to Abraham, was that through his line, all the earth would be blessed, and was fulfilled with the birth of Jesus.

Because God did not fail Israel, He does not fail us today. 2 Corinthians 1:20 says, "For all the promises of God are 'Yes' in Christ. And all things will be accomplished that which is by working, that which is by word, and that which is by power." He promises eternal life to those who believe in Jesus and that He is always with us. He assures that everything will work together for the good of those who love Him and supply all our needs according to His good riches. God gives us freedom from fear and anxiety and offers peace and strength in times of trouble. When we seek first the kingdom of God, He does not fail us.

Choose to claim the promises that God made you when you accepted His Son, Jesus Christ, as your Lord and Savior. Seek Him daily and study His word, even if it is only one verse. Pray every morning and ask Him to guide you in doing His good work. Pray for protection and thank Him for all the good in your life. Choose to bring others to Christ, so that they attain the promises that you have, because God does not fail.
