For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this? Esther 4:14 (NKJV)

After hearing about Haman's plan to exterminate the Jews, Mordecai goes to Queen Esther to intercede for him and the Jewish people. Esther tells him that she cannot see the king without being called, as per the law, or face certain death unless the king holds out the golden scepter. Esther was hesitant, so Mordecai let her know that if she remained silent, she would not escape any more than all the other Jews, and that God put her in the position of queen for such a time. The queen told him to gather the Jews and fast for three days because she was going to see the king.

Just like Queen Esthers position, God puts us in different positions and situations for His divine purpose. We may question why we are in a certain situation, and it may take a lot of courage to face them, but we need to keep faith that God has us there for a reason, and that he can bring about deliverance through unexpected means. Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” It doesn't matter if we are in a time of crisis or a period of stability, because God put us in the position for such a time to do His good works.

Choose to trust God's plan for you in all situations, having the faith to know you are there for a reason, and trusting His will in all things. Remember that God placed you in a situation for such a time because His Word promises that He directs your steps, has a purpose in every situation, and works all things together for His good. Seek His guidance through prayer and meditation, reading the scripture, and fellowship with believers, observing His provision and peace in your current circumstances. Have peace and trust that God will use your gifts, opening and closing the right doors, and guiding you for such a time as this to do His good works.
