So they said, “If you send away the ark of the God of Israel, do not send it empty; but by all means return it to Him with a trespass offering. Then you will be healed, and it will be known to you why His hand is not removed from you.” 1Samuel 6:3 (NKJV)
The five Philistines kings, realizing their sin against God, go to their priests to find a way to make an atonement. The priests had the kings make 5 golden rats and 5 golden tumors to acknowledge that the plague and rats came from the hand of God. They placed the gold objects on a new cart with the Ark and yoked it to two cows who had never been yoked. To test to see if their troubles were really from the hand of God, they allow the cows to walk freely. The cows went to Isreal, confirming God's power.
When God delivers us from our addictions, we need to tell the world and show them God's power. Acts 1:8 says, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” When we accepted Jesus and gave our addictions to Him, we gained new freedom. We got a new identity, we had freedom from our chains, relationships were restored, we got a new purpose & calling, and we had a transformation of the heart. Addiction separates people from God, and they feel that there is no way out. That is why we need to show the world the power of God and how it has worked in us.
Show the world what Jesus has done for you. If you see someone caught in addiction, share your story with them. Tell them how Jesus has delivered you from your addiction. Join a Celebrate Recovery, do a step study and give your testimonies at different CR's. Your testimony is a unique story of God’s work in your life. Sharing it can inspire others, demonstrating to them how faith can transform lives and offer hope. It also encourages them to trust in His ability to change hearts and difficult circumstances.
