Don't Fear the Giants
Joshua 14:10-11 When all of Israel grew faint, because of talk of giants in the promised land, there was one man who still believed. Caleb, because of his faith and perseverance was allowed to enter the promised land. Christians today cannot let talk of giants deter them from achieving what God calls them to do.

10 And now, behold, the Lord has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five years, ever since the Lord spoke this word to Moses while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old. 11 As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in. Joshua 14:10-11
Joshua, Caleb, and Eleazar the high priest were the only ones who had left the bondage of Egypt and were allowed to enter the promised land. In Numbers chapter 13, Moses sent 12 spies into the promised land who reported back of giants. Joshua and Caleb were the only two of the twelve spies sent out who believed that God would deliver the giants into their hands. Unfortunately, the rest of Israel sided with the other ten spies and chose not to believe God's word. Joshua 14 focuses on Caleb. He is 85 years old and is as strong as he was forty years before. He is not only physically strong, but also spiritually strong. Because of his faith and perseverance, God was faithful and kept him alive to enter the promised land.
Just as Caleb, Christians need to be spiritually strong to beat their giants. 1 Corinthians 15:58 says, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” You may ask; how can I be spiritually strong? As a Christian, you can become spiritually strong by making time for God every day, fall in love with the Word of God, pray like you mean it, surround yourself with fire-filled believers, never stop worshiping - even if its stormy, live a life that reflects God's character, and choose to serve God. As Christians, we do not need to be afraid of the giants coming our way, because we have faith that God will win the battle for us.
Tell someone today how God has beat the giants in your life. You will give other Christians the strength to face their giants, or you may bring an unbeliever to Christ because they see God working in you.
