Therefore, listen to me, you men of understanding: Far be it from God to do wickedness, and from the Almighty to commit iniquity. Job 34:10 (NKJV)

Elihu proclaims God's justice to Job and his friends, letting them know that God’s justice, sovereignty, and impartiality are absolute, and that His ways are beyond human questioning. He tells them that they are perceiving Job's situation wrongly and seeks to explain that human suffering does not imply that God is unjust. Elihu lets the men know that God is incapable of doing wickedness and committing iniquity.

As believers we need to stop blaming God and know that troubles that we are going through are a result of a broken world, and not of Him. 1 John 1:5 says, “God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all.” God is pure light, with no moral corruption or darkness, and has the inability to engage in iniquity. Our suffering or apparent injustice does not contradict God’s goodness but challenges us to trust in His wisdom and purposes. John 16:33 says, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” We need to acknowledge our troubles as part of a broken world, knowing that they are not from God, and accept Christ’s victory over the world’s brokenness.

Instead of blaming God for your troubles choose to give them to Christ, knowing that He is true, faithful, and committed to deliver you from your troubles, both spiritually and in His care, through His promises and the work of the Holy Spirit. Trust in God’s justice even when circumstances seem unfair, approaching questions of suffering and morality with humility, and seeking deeper understanding of God’s purposes rather than assuming wrongdoing on His part. Access Jesus' deliverance from your troubles through faith, trusting His willingness and power to set you free, and believing in His promises. God cannot commit iniquity, but through faith He can deliver you from it.
