A Mighty Person of Valor
Nehemiah 11:14 The hundred and twenty-eight men that were called mighty, were not warriors, but were leaders and protectors of the Temple. Like them we can be called mighty when we serve the church.

And their brethren, mighty men of valor, were one hundred and twenty-eight. Their overseer was Zabdiel the son of one of the great men. Nehemiah 11:14 (NKJV)
The 128 “mighty men of valor” were chosen to serve in Jerusalem, led by Zabdiel, son of Haggedolim, as overseers, not just warriors but consecrated servants who combined spiritual ministry with civic duty, guarding worship and protecting the community. They left their ancestral homes to live in a city still under reconstruction, showing faith and commitment, and worked collectively, reflecting the biblical principle that kingdom work flourishes through cooperative service.
Being a mighty person of valor is achieved by faithful service, restoring spiritual life and guiding the community in worship. Hebrews 10:24–25 says, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” When we are mighty people of valor, we work together with other Christians and stand firm in God’s work even when it is difficult, sometimes sacrificing personal comfort for the greater good, and leading by example, integrating strength and humility.
Choose to be the mighty person of valor that God has called you to be, and contribute your gifts and time to God’s work, whether in spiritual or community service. Come aside other Christians and share responsibility in serving where needed, because every role, no matter how small, is vital to the health and growth of the church. Face challenges with faith and dedication, inspiring others to persevere in their own responsibilities, and help grow the community of mighty people of valor.
